![]() ¹ For those who may be wondering, I'm doing fine. Debian probably will work, though I haven't actually tried any version of Debian on it before. I also suspect Elementary OS should (since they do target Mac users). I know for a fact, for example, that Ubuntu, Fedora, and openSUSE will work on it. Oh, and I should add that by "install" I mean to have it installed on bare metal, not in a virtual machine. So, for instance, CentOS is out, as is Solus, since neither seems to support the hardware I've got. It must be a distro which can actually be installed on a 2011 MBP. However, in asking for the community to decide, I do need to qualify that request a bit. I would like the community to vote for which Linux distro I should put on it. However, that version is now highly dated. I'm afraid of rusting of some of its metal parts if it should start to cry.Īfter I got my HP tower up and running, ultimately I reinstalled macOS High Sierra on it. Now, it sort of sits around the house, not being used all that much, and I think it's kind of depressed, really. However, I also have a 2011 MacBook Pro, which was my main machine until last March when I bought an HP Envy TE01-0014 tower. As you may possibly know by now, I bought an M1 MacBook Air a couple months back, and I really like it a lot. ![]() I'm stuck at home for two weeks after my thyroid surgery¹, and to be honest, I'm a bit bored and looking for a project to keep my mind going.
